All that has happened to me, it had never been expected. I always thought that the rich lived in houses of their own. Their debt paid off just like that. I never thought that one of the richest families in the world would be living not in a house, mansion, hotel, but under ground.
"Yuki, you can't expect the bus ride to go that quickly, just entertain yourself somehow. It shouldn't be that hard. Just look out the window or something, there's lots of hills. You never know looking out a window can be quite entertaining...well, if you're bored", I smiled.
Yuki is my best friend. She has been there my whole life, well from 6 years old when I had met her in preschool. We've been best friends, we may have had fights every so often but we managed to figure things out. But it'd usually take a day or two to be back to our old selves.
Aiko, you know how hard it is for me to be entertained, there's no signal! How will I go on? Aiko! Help me! I'm dying. Signal is like my air!"
"You're overreacting. We've just left the camp, we have about 5 hours to go until we get home. We probably won't get signal until we're in Innisfail or Tully." I replied.
"What?! That's like...what- 3 hours away. Aiko! Those towns are far away from here!"
I shooked my head, I took the phone from her hands and shoved it into my pocket of my bag.
"You've seriously got to help yourself, you are addicted to your phone. It's like a drug to you."
"A good drug."
"No, it's not."
"You sound like an old lady."
I looked away, "Look out the window. Entertain yourself, woman- Without technology!"
The scenery was quite beautiful, I was a nature loving person. I wasn't so 'I love everything of nature, even the animals', I just loved the sight of nature, the animals weren't really my definition of it though. We reached apart of the bus trip home where the hills surrounded the area. We were in the Atherton Tablelands. We've been coming to the same camp for three years, and some of the kids hate going there because they've been there before. But when we go, I love seeing the Atherton Tablelands, something about it just lures me into its beauty.
"Girls! Boys! We're having a stop now. Mrs. Jaske has all your packed lunches, so exit the bus in a careful manner and we'll distribute your lunches to you." Shouted Ms. Hooper.
Yuki and I slowly walked off the bus, I hated how when people we're getting off a bus, it's always so slow. I don't get it.
"Hooper is so old. She talks so slow, and old fashioned. It's wierd because she's only like- what? Thirty? She talks like a 60 year old." Yuki said.
"I think its because she was raised by very strict people, you know those who are strict on education? Back then, they might have used very informative words."
"Thats true. But-Hey! Don't you think that forest is creepy? Like you can clearly see an entrance. Lucky there are no houses around here, animals that are in that forest could probably come out and rip apart the people."
"Thats horrible."
"Hold on, I'm going to talk to Mrs. Jaske for a moment. Wait here."
I nodded.
The scenery was so beautiful. Beyond me, there was vast hills that I swore went on for about an acre. Beyond the hills was a bright blue lake, with small trees that had blossoming flowers. You could see the suns reflection of the water, and made the water look even more beautiful. But when I gazed at the forest there was a different aura about it. It was creepy, just like Yuki had said. It was even wierder that it had an entrance, no archways, or sign saying "Creepy forest ahead". It just had the trees parted and a dirt road. No one could live here, it'd be too dangerous.
I guess it's time to go...
I placed my rubbish in my pocket, and slowly stood up. I was so engaged with the beauty of this area, I had zoned out completely and I hadn't even realised that the bus had left. . .
How could the bus have left without me? Don't they do a headcount? All my stuff is on the bus. I can't call an say 'Hey! You left without me! I'm stuck back here!'. I can't do that. There was nothing I could do now, I felt really scared.
The next towns were three-four hours away. I knew if I had to walk there, it would be night before the time I got there. I would be terrified being there at night. Though...once they realise I'm missing they'll come back.
Wait...why wouldn't Yuki tell the teachers I wasn't on the bus? Am I invisible to you Yuki?
Afraid for my life, the only thing I could really do was set up camp. Not that I really had anything. I needed time to think. The perfect place to think would be resting on one of the hills and staring up at the sky, hoping that the sun wouldn't shine in my eyes. Moving forward, I placed my foot down.
What- The ground just sank?! Wait...No. I'm going crazy. Thats not sinking, thats a door. I looked up, suspicious forest with an entrance? Hidden door. People do live here.
But why underground?! The curious side of me wished to discover what was actually in here.
I slid my body down the hidden door. I found myself sliding down a slide, and crashing on the hard dirt floor. It hurt. Really bad.
There were two people...
Two boys, they had purple hair...lavender hair. Bright yellow eyes. Bright Yellow Eyes? Is that even natural? They looked so similiar...
I guessed it. These two boys were twins. They looked roughly 17, the same ages as me. One of them came up to me, it felt a little scary, but he held my hand and pulled me up.
Oh god. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I don't even know this person, but he just had that effect on me. He was cute too, he tilted his head and questioned me.
"Who are you?"
"....I didn't mean to fall through your...uhm...house?"
